CBD for Pain Management
CBD for Pain Management
CBD has been used for thousands of years to treat various types of pain, however research into combating the following ailments with CBD has only just begun;
- Multiple Sclerosis. MS is an autoimmune disease that affects the entire body through the nerves and brain, causing severe muscle spasms all over the body. A product named ‘Sativex’ has now been produced and prescribed for MS sufferers, by the NHS, which is made primarily of CBD and THC. One of the creators of Sativex is Alpha Verde's consultant, Dr Tom Chapman. A recent study found that short term use of CBD oil could reduce the levels of spasticity a person feels. The results are modest, but many of those tested, reported a reduction in symptoms. We are also working with an ambassador, who is an MS sufferer, and he is more than happy to consult with other MS sufferers to explain the benefits he has experienced with Nano Mist.
- Chronic Pain. The same study mentioned above studied CBD use for general chronic pains, with researchers including the results amongst dozens of other trials and studies, and have come to the following conclusion… There is substantial evidence to suggest that cannabis is an effective treatment for chronic pain in adults. A separate study from the ‘Journal of Experimental Medicine’ supports these claims, suggesting that CBD can reduce pain and inflammation.
- Arthritis Pain. The Arthritis foundation conducted its own poll, and found that 29% reported current use of CBD (mostly in topical forms), and, almost 80% were either using it, had used it in the past, or we considering using it. In the study, most people reported improvement in physical function, sleep, and well-being, with a minority reporting improvement in pain, and, or stiffness.
